Our History
LGP was founded by Leonard I. Green, a pioneer of the leveraged buyout industry, who established Gibbons, Green van Amerongen as one of the first New York-based merchant banking firms in 1969. Green founded LGP in 1989 and retired in 2001. Since inception, LGP has made over 140 investments in the form of traditional buyouts, going-private transactions, recapitalizations, growth equity, and selective public equity and debt positions.
